: US dollar appreciates against rupee
The dollar depreciated against the rupee on Thursday in both foreign exchange markets as new letters of credit were opened for imports. As a result, the interbank rate of the dollar again crossed Rs 153.
In the interbank market, the dollar rose by 54 paise to close at Rs 153.29 after fluctuating. Similarly, in the open currency market, the dollar rose by 60 paise to close at Rs 154.80.
