: Despite all the claims made by the government, the rupee continues to depreciate against the dollar.
According to Express-News, the rupee has been depreciating in the interbank and open market for the past three months. Yesterday, the dollar was trading at Rs 168.94 in the interbank market and Rs 169.80 in the open market.
The Pakistani currency also depreciated on Wednesday, hitting a low of Rs 169.63 per dollar in the interbank market, the lowest level in the country’s history.
It should be noted that since the beginning of this financial year, the rupee has depreciated by more than 12 rupees against the dollar. The rise in the value of the dollar is also increasing the volume of Pakistan’s debt.
