The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) says the date for filing income tax returns will not be extended.
FBR spokesman Asad Tahir Japa said in a statement that the date for filing income tax returns for the tax year 2021 would not be extended. The deadline is September 30, 2021.
A spokesman for the FBR said the Iris system was running smoothly, with about 150,000 returns filed on September 28, the highest number in a single day since last year. Similarly, the FBR has enhanced the efficiency of its system to provide better facilities to the taxpayers.
According to the spokesperson, taxpayers should file their income tax returns before the deadline to avoid legal complications.
