Due to rising demand for imports, the dollar continued to appreciate against the rupee in both the foreign exchange markets on Thursday.
The dollar closed 22 paise higher at Rs 153.46 after fluctuating in the interbank market. Similarly, in the open currency market, the dollar rose by another 20 paise to close at Rs 153.80.
