The Trading Corporation of Pakistan has issued a tender for the fourth time for the import of sugar while the tender for the import of 50,000 metric tonnes of sugar has been issued for the fourth time.

The Ministry of Commerce has directed to issue tender for import of sugar. The date of receipt of envelope bids for sugar import is April 27. The envelope bids for import of sugar were opened on April 27.

According to sources, the trading corporation has canceled three consecutive tenders for 50,000 tonnes. TCP canceled three tenders for sugar imports due to high bids. In the third tender, the Turkish company had bid 48 484 per tonne.
If the Turkish company did not submit the securities bond, the bid of the Gulf company would have been minimal as the Gulf company had bid 520.20 per tonne. The third tender was also canceled because sugar is getting cheaper in the world market.
