: The federal government has decided to give a subsidy package to consumers on high consumption of electricity in winter.
A nationwide advanced metering infrastructure project will also be launched in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank. The government has also decided to introduce a new oil refining policy. The final decision will be taken with the approval of the Cabinet Energy Committee and the Federal Cabinet. A meeting of the Cabinet Energy Committee has been convened on Monday.
The meeting will consider a seven-point agenda. A monthly report on out-of-merit power plants will also be presented at the meeting.
The meeting will also review the summary based on the comparison of the TOR of the Cabinet Energy Committee and the Charter of the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet.
