The FBR has introduced a modern facility for taxpayers
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced online electronic hearing for tax audits and estimates for the convenience of taxpayers.
A statement issued by the Federal Board of Revenue said that the FBR has introduced software for the online hearing of tax audit and assessment cases electronically for the convenience of taxpayers.
In this regard, electronic hearing module has been activated on FBRK IRIS portal. This module will enable online hearings through a link between the special hearing rooms set up at the KFBR sub-offices and the location of the taxpayers.
Not only will the hearing be recorded electronically but it can also be used for other legal and administrative uses. In the first phase, the module of electronic hearing will be launched in Large Tax Peer Office Islamabad, Regional Tax Office Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Peshawar. have done. In the second phase, the electronic hearing module will also be introduced in all FBR sub-offices.
In this regard, the Chief Commissioners of IR have been directed to ensure the installation of this module in their respective sub-offices by May 31, 2021 and the setting up of rooms for special electronic hearing. This module will give the FBR head office the option to join any electronic hearing at any time to assess the system’s operational capability.
The FBR added in its statement that due to the electronic hearing module, taxpayers will no longer have to visit FBR sub-offices. In this regard, the FBR has issued instructions that the hearings will be abolished from July 1, 2021, after which all hearings will be online.
